Pre-orders for Minecraft on Nintendo Switch 2 are live ahead of the October 27, 2026 launch. Vibrant Visuals as the default look, Super Mario Mash-Up with that lighting pass, and — the clock that matters — a limited free digital Standard upgrade for existing Switch digital owners through end of January 2027 in most territories. PixelCraft’s advice: claim the upgrade early, then argue Deluxe vs Ultimate later.
What you can pre-order
- Digital Standard, Deluxe Collection, Ultimate Collection — plus physical retail
- All versions include Super Mario Mash-Up Pack with Vibrant Visuals support*
- Deluxe adds Celebration Food, Rescue Dogs, Plenty O’Blocks, 3 CC items, 700 Minecoins
- Ultimate adds those plus Decocraft and Weapons + Tools, 5 CC items, 1000 Minecoins
- Launch date: October 27, 2026
How I’d spend the calendar
- If you already own Switch digital Minecraft, open eShop and claim/upgrade before the January 2027 cutoff
- Decide Deluxe/Ultimate only if you actually want those add-ons — Minecoins stay Nintendo-side
- Mark October 27 for Vibrant Visuals living-room nights
- Carry worlds over if the listing says so — still back up important Realms exports
*Vibrant Visuals still has the usual caveats in some multiplayer/Marketplace cases. Treat the pre-order post as a shopping list with a deadline, not a graphics manifesto.
October 27 is the party. January 2027 is the free-upgrade fuse — don’t sleep on the eShop claim.
