Bedrock 26.60 is the retail release, and it’s a cold one. Ice Caves arrive as experimental content from the drop, alongside Frostbite, Ice Balls, Freezing, Icicles, and Ice Crystals. On top of that, there are over 600 fixes. This is a player-facing digest — the highlights worth knowing before you update, not a line-by-line changelog.
The cold-weather toolkit
- Ice Caves — experimental, so enable the toggle in a test world first
- Frostbite — a frozen zombie variant that brings the cold to you
- Ice Balls — thrown projectiles from Frostbites
- Freezing — an effect that slows and damages you in the cold
- Icicles — hanging ice formations that shape the cave atmosphere
- Ice Crystals — glowing, decorative cave features
600+ fixes
The release also includes more than 600 bug fixes across gameplay, stability, and polish. You won’t need to read every entry, but if something has been bugging you for a while, it’s worth scanning the full notes to see if it’s been addressed.
Update checklist
- Back up worlds before updating
- Create a new experimental world with Ice Caves enabled
- Test Frostbite, Ice Balls, and Freezing in a controlled space
- Keep important survival worlds unchanged until you’re confident
26.60 is the first real taste of the cold drop — bring leather, bring backups, bring patience.
